Poppy & Rye House an Air B&B that is one block away & walking distance to the Magnolia Silos. Poppy & Rye House is a house that was bought in a dilapidated state by a mother and son duo who renovated it and brought beauty to Clay Avenue. Rye (Riley) is Dana’s son who is a Baylor grad and did a lot of the detailed wood work in the house himself, and Poppy his grandfather who was the inspiration for this house.

This house is one that demands drivers attention as they pass by but the beautiful mix of wood, white, black and pops of brightness.
Taking the first few steps onto the porch, and you’ll find yourself in love! The amazing twin size porch swing was extra relaxing listening to the birds while watching the squirrels and cats climb the near by trees.
The perfect blends of black, white, wood, and orange/reds continue throughout the inside of the house. On the walls you will find inspirational poems written by Poppy.
The kitchen is stocked with everything you need to feel right at home and cook a full meal. If you don’t want to cook, don’t fret. This air B&B is minutes away from several local family owned restaurants.

The backyard!
The back yard had FREE live entertainment! The Backyard Bar Stage and Grill was pretty much in Poppy & Rye House’s back yard! Beginning at 7 pm, there was a LIVE band at The Backyard Bar Stage and Grill that I got to enjoy in the privacy of Poppy & Rye House’s back yard! There is a high privacy fence allowing me to dance to the beat of my own drum with romantic string lights, relaxing chairs, and a warm cozy fireplace to hang out around.
If the loud music isn’t your thing, don’t worry. When renovating this old house, they must have used some thick insulation, because you can’t hear a peep from inside!
For a minute I thought with all of these perfect details, I was staying in a house featured on Fixer Upper.
The Bathrooms are something out of a magazine! The bathrooms feature gorgeous mixtures of glass, a free standing tub, ship lap, subway tiles, double vanities, and herringbone patterns.
Bedroom 1 features a stunning on-suite, a large king size bed, a beautiful chandelier, and 3 sliding barn doors. & not to mention COMFORTABLE! This mattress felt like I was floating on a cloud!
Hidden in bedroom 1 there is a secret linen closet that features a piece of the house they decided to leave as is. This green paint is the paint that was all throughout the house before they began renovating. I love that they decided to keep this as is, but have it hidden an only exposed to flash back to the past.
Bedroom 2 is stunning with the combination or exposed brick and wood. The wood in this room was wood original to the house.
Bedroom 3 consisted of 2 twin size beds with pullout trundle beds hidden under them for extra sleeping accommodations.
The Hosts, Dana & Riley, thought of everything in this Air B&B. There was candy and water placed next to the perfectly made bed, music playing as we arrived, laundry detergent and a washer and dryer, everything was spotless, an alarm system, WI-FI, smart tv, games to play, snacks to munch on, extra fans & space heaters, pack n play for the baby, and so many more little thoughtful details.
This welcome table located by the front door was such a nice touch. There was a notebook allowing guests to document their experience at the house. A map to mark where you are from as well as seeing the home state of all the other guest that have stayed. They also had a Polaroid camera encouraging guests to take their picture and put it on the board.
